Good morning, Guys & Dolls,

Hope you are all well.  Are you planning on going out today, now that part of the stay-at-home is lifted?  There is nothing classified as "important" to share.  Just wanted to keep us all in touch.  Read on:

Carol Houck:  One of her favorite songs is "How Can I Keep from Singing."  Carol is a retired teacher from HCPS.  She taught at Youth's Benefit Elementary School (YBES) for 39 years (1972-2011).  15 years in 6th grade, then 23 in 4th grade, and one year in 5th.  Until 1985, her last name was Siemon. It was (and still is) a very large school. She taught one of Barbara Cooper's children, but did not teach Brian.          Currently, Carol has discovered Zoom and video phone calling. Her senior center aerobics instructor has some sessions on Zoom. Also, if anyone is interested, the Harford County Office on Aging has four exercise classes on u tube  that anyone can access. Also a bunch of her high school classmates have been meeting on Zoom weekly. It is wonderful talking to these ladies who live all over the country. They all attended Mercy High. (Did anyone else go to Mercy?)

One of her favorite activities has been video calling with her daughter and two granddaughters !

Carol enjoys reading all our e-mails and Facebook posts.

Trivia:  How old is Billy Ripken?  First to reply will be the smartest singer of the day!

What's What:  How about sharing your favorites.  Maybe add some silly advice for Covid.  If enough people respond, I'll create a spread sheet.  I'll start:

Books:  Deliver Us from Evil by David Baldacci.

Movies:  All time is Sound of Music.  A good one recently was Jennifer8 (on Prime Video).

TV Shows:  All the Chicago series.

What was your profession in non-retired life:  Administrative Assistant.

Silly Advice:  If you hold a wine glass in each hand, you can't touch your face!!

John Louderback:  He loved learning everyone's input. He's been busy fighting the so-called freeze warnings for freshly planted flowers, filled his family room with as many containers as he could, and the rest he said, "Lord please protect, and he has."  Much love to everyone.

Phil Pace:  "If this continues much longer, we might have to do a zoom meeting online – that’s what a couple churches in the area have done with their Sunday school classes."

Lowell Repp:  On 5/13, he reported "that I am back home after 7 days in Franklin Sq. Hospital.  T. brought me home last night and I am recuperating the best I can at home.  I had a severe rash all over my body, but especially in my legs and they were turning red.  I was tested for everything in the hospital with several blood tests each day.  They couldn't find the exact cause but changed some meds. thinking of allergies.  It is good to be back w/T. again and where I can walk around some.  We hope to get these new meds straightening me out.

Thank you for your prayers, calls, and thoughts and may they continue. Love and Peace, Lowell"

Carol Schatz:  Carol is entertaining herself by making designs in the carpets with her vacuum!

Sue Nieto:  She's keeping herself busy with her genealogy and staying in touch with family.

Susan Brand:  Her favorite pastime (any time of year) is reading a lot.

Karen Donnelly:  She's been trying to coach me through Google Duo.  (She's been partially successful.  I'm a tough student.)

Angela Breton:  She has baby bluebirds in her yard.  She posts pics on Facebook.

Me:  With all these technological advances, I'm still  not caught up with the times.  Zoom and Google Duo (as mentioned above) still cause me problems.  I spent nearly two hours on the phone with Geek Squad to no avail.  They suggested I take my laptop into the store as soon as they open.  Tmobile won't touch my phone currently.  So ... I'll continue to play in my garden and connect with you guys.

Angela has bluebirds.  I have baby squirrels.  They are free to a good home.  All you have to do is catch them and they're yours!!!

That's all I've got for today.  May the Good Lord keep us all safe and healthy.  Sending you all my best wishes .... Kathy

p.s.  I love hearing from you!  xxoo
